WHAT IS CROWDFUNDING?
  • Crowdfunding is the use of small amounts of money, from a large number of individuals or businesses, to finance a project or campaign.
  • Crowdfunding makes use of its users’ networks of friends, family and colleagues social media websites (like Facebook, IG and LinkedIn) to get the word out.
  • Crowdfunding provides supporters, the opportunity of participating directly in the funding and success of a project, through a collective effort.

HOW DO I REGISTER A CAMPAIGN?

To register your Podium Pursuit – Fund Your Passion Account and create a Crowdfunding Campaign, Click the REGISTER button on the home page. You need to be 18 years or older or, have parental or your legal guardian’s consent.

You are responsible for your account and all the activity on it. Don’t impersonate anyone else or choose names that are offensive or that violate anyone’s rights. If you don’t follow these rules, we may cancel your Account and/or un-publish your Campaign.

Once your Campaign has been loaded, it is published automatically but, we reserve the right to validate your Campaign and remove Campaigns that do not fit the intended use of the Platform.

Then, share your Campaign link with your friends, family, and colleagues – your Fans – to invite donations.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT FROM OTHER CROWDFUNDING PLATFORMS?

FUND YOUR PASSION is designed exclusively for Top Athletes, Teams and Federations, to generate funding that may be used towards coaching, training, participation at qualifying events and sports equipment. We reserve the right to remove Campaigns that do not meet this criteria.

WHAT DOES IT COST TO SET UP AND MANAGE A CAMPAIGN?

Creating a Campaign is FREE to Athletes and, there are no charges to you if you don’t raise any funds. There are no time limits on Campaigns. You can also carry on receiving contributions after you’ve met your target goal. You can also update your campaign at any time with new projects that you need to raise funds for.

Fund Your Passion retains 5% as an administration fee plus VAT = 5,75% on funds raised through its platform. This fee covers the provision of the platform, campaign administration, tracking and marketing of Campaigns. A transaction fee of 5% for our banking fees and payment gateway, is charged to the donor at checkout. This is referred to as a Surcharge on their transaction statement.

Fund Your Passion is powered by our payment partner Payfast.

HOW DO I GET PAID OUT?

Fund Your Passion makes payment on a monthly basis – funds raised from the 1st to the last day of each month and these funds are paid out on the 10th of the following month. Campaign Owners will need to provide us with proof of banking account and a copy of their Identity, prior to payments being made.
