Thomas Breytenbach: Olympic Qualification Campaign

As a seven-time national champion and the youngest South African to reach the African championship finals at the age of 19, I’ve dedicated my life to the sport I love, Judo. Representing Team South Africa at prestigious events like the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, where I placed 5th, the World Student Games in Chengdu, and the African Games in Accra, Ghana, has been a dream come true. I’ve had the privilege of competing at three out of the four largest games possible, with the Olympic Games being the pinnacle of my aspirations.

However, to reach this milestone, I need your support. In the coming months, I’ll be participating in several Grandslams/Grand Prix and European Cups, crucial events that will provide me with the necessary points to climb the ranking ladder and secure my qualification for the Olympic Games. While the exact dates are yet to be confirmed, these competitions will be instrumental in shaping my journey towards Olympic excellence.
